A note about poor quality artwork:
There is a design charge for re-drawing logos and sourcing better quality images for your sign.
Often, supplied artwork is of poor quality: logos and images obtained from websites may look good on screen, but are usually too poor quality for large format printing.

- Software
We use the following applications on our PC systems (not Apple Mac).
AutoCAD 2008 - .dwg .dxf .dwf
CorelDraw 12 - .cdr .eps .wmf
Photoshop CS2 - .psd .bmp .gif .tif .ai .jpg
- Fonts
Always provide fonts used in the files provided to ensure an exact match to the font style required. Not required if the fonts are converted to curves initially. We have a large selection of fonts on the system and will match your requirements if possible on request.
- Text
Occasionally we receive artwork where the text has been corrupted, and appears with flat edges (like a 50p piece). Although this is not a problem with small signs, it can take a long time to re-type large amounts of text.
- Colours
Traffic signs use standard trafic colours: green, blue, red, yellow, white & black.
For other types of sign, we define colours in two ways: for print & vinyl cutting.
PANTONE COATED COLOURS for digital print - our printer will only print in Pantones or CMYK.
- Vinyl
We use vinyls from the Hexis colour range and may need to match your colour requirements to the available vinyls which may vary.
- Radius corners
(This issue applies to signs with borders)
We generally radius the corners of sign plates, and our standard radius tools are as follows:
12.5mm, 25mm, 37.5mm, 50mm, 75mm, 112.5mm.
The border and corner radius on the artwork must be designed to match one of the above rads. For non-traffic signs, it is not important which radius you choose for any sign (though smaller signs tend to have smaller radius), so long as the borders follow the corner radius.
Traffic signs should have a 3s/w border rounded to the nearest standard radius.
- Scans
For optimum image quality scans should be provided at 600 dpi.
