Sign storage and cleaning (permanent traffic signs)

FRAGILE - STORE ON EDGE - KEEP DRY

Sign transportation

Our signs are carefully packaged to protect them during transportation ONLY.

Signs going into storage should be removed from the transportation packaging.

Storage indoors

Keep signs DRY. STORE UPRIGHT ON EDGE OF WOODEN BATTENS. PROTECT sign faces using plastic sheeting or bubble-wrap.

If packaged signs get WET remove wet packaging and allow signs to dry completely.

Storage Outdoors:

Where signs cannot be stored indoors, remove all transport packaging materials (shrink-wrap and banding) and STORE UPRIGHT ON EDGE ON WOODEN BATTENS.

It is important to ALLOW SPACE FOR FREE AIR CIRCULATION.

DO NOT LIE SIGNS FLAT. DO NOT allow contact with dirt, standing water, sharp or heavy objects or treated wooden posts.

Correct storage
Incorrect storage
Water damage caused by storing signs outdoors in

transportation packaging.

Cleaning:

Flush with clean water after washing. Use only soft sponges or other tools that will not scratch the sign face.

Do NOT use solvents to clean signs.

If pressure washing equipment is used, limit nozzle pressure to 80 bar (1000psi). Nozzle should be held at least 1 metre away from the sign using a wide fan pattern, and at an angle of no more than 15 degrees from perpendicular to the sign.

Note: Dew resistant coated signfaces must be flushed only with water. Detergents must not be used.
