Sign fixings refer to the method of erecting your sign.
There are several different fixing methods available depending on where your sign needs to go.
Generally, permanent traffic signs are post mounted, so are supplied with channel (or T-section for flag-type signs).
Temporary traffic signs have a wider range of uses so can be mounted in a variety of ways: from frame-mounted roadworks signs to post-mounted or strap sign. |

Channel & Post clips
|
Sign-fix channel is riveted to the rear of the sign plate.
76mm clips then secure the sign to the 76mm post.
On all permanent signs the rivets sit flush with the sign blank before the sign is faced. This is so nothing pierces or protrudes through the facing.
With temporary traffic signs the rivets protrude through the sign face.

|
|
The location/amount of channel and the number/size of posts used on any given traffic sign is safety-critical and is thus wholly governed by BSEN 12899-1: 2007.
Butting clamps are to be used on all signs which have horizontal joins, on larger signs we tend to use multiples of 600mm high panels. |

Vertical channel:
|
Channel is usually fitted horizontally to the sign to accomodate the commonly used vertical posts.
In cases where your post is running horizontally, as in car park barriers, gates or fences, we can fix vertical channel.
Please specify 'vertical channel' when you order, else horizontal will be fixed by default. |

T-section end mounting
| T-section end mounted sign fixing is suitable for small directional signs (less than 1000mm in length) as shown above.
The sign can be double sided, displaying your sign message on both sides. |

Uni-clamps
| Uni clamps allow small signs (around 600mm x 450mm) to be fixed onto a single 76mm post, without the need for channel.
2 x M8 bolt heads protrude through the sign face (per clamp).
These are ideal for mounting car parking, safety signs or fire assembly point signs.
We can supply base plates and posts separately (note these signs are NOT free standing, the posts need to be concreted into the ground). |

Sign banding tools & accessories
| The Signfix Banding System offers the sign industry the versatility of bands and fittings specially designed and packaged for use by sign manufacturers and erectors.
All products are manufactured from premium quality stainless steel and are fully compatible with other materials in the Signfix System range.
|
 |
| Specification
Signfix regular and heavy duty bands, buckles and bucklestraps are manufactured from AISI 201 stainless steel.
This alloy was specifically developed for banding applications and hence exhibits excellent work hardening properties and performance under tensile stress.
All bands, buckles and fittings are therefore entirely rust and maintenance free. For the safety of operators, all bands have a full, rounded edge to minimise accidents.
Regular Signfix band is packaged in a convenient PVC dispenser, which enables the sign erector to carry the band easily when climbing ladders. The dispenser is totally water resistant, and will not deteriorate when used in wet conditions, thus minimising wastage. (Lightweight and Heavy Duty band are supplied in cardboard packaging). |

Butting clamps & post clips
Butting clamps MUST be used on all multi-panel signs. Like post-clips, they are essential to maintain the structural integrity of the sign - signs erected without butting clamps have been known to fall off their posts in high winds! Butting clamps must be fitted at the ends of each sign and also one between each set of posts.
